TRANSCENDING HOPE:
When There are No Greater Bounds than Hope Itself
That's the title God
gave me for my book about a little boy with little more than hope itself. It took years for me to
understand what that meant, what it means to transcend hope when there are no
greater bounds. It made no sense at first. Then, just before it was time for me
to re-awaken this book, the understanding was revealed to me. It was a
revelation. I wrote this book more than twenty years ago. I remember editing it
years later and God saying, don't change one more word. It was not meant to be
perfect. It was written by a little boy whose life was nowhere near perfect. So
his story could not be perfect. I love this kid like he was my own.
His story flowed
through me like water; and then, my life fell apart. I had no control over
anything that happened to me and no-one to understand that. Even today, I don't
have a soul to talk to about my pains, humiliation, and fears. So I walk this
life alone, sometimes feeling hopeless. I can't imagine the life my character
lived; but sometimes, I can't imagine the life I exist in; yet, I exist. I
imagine there is something God wanted me to understand. I called it blank existence even before I knew what it
was. To have a place in life without
purpose, so it feels, has to be the pure, spiritual definition of hopelessness.
How do you transcend that? Please God. Tell me.
